Bathroom zones per BS 7671 Section 701

The IET Wiring Regulations divide bathrooms into zones based on water exposure risk:

Zone 0 — The interior of the bath or shower basin. Fittings here must be IPX7 (immersible) AND limited to SELV (Separated Extra-Low Voltage) ≤12V AC or ≤30V DC. Most installs put nothing in Zone 0; if you do (e.g. underwater bath light), specify a manufacturer's SELV-rated kit.
